Seniors

Senior photographers are chosen based on their consistency not only in their shots but also in their spiritual walk.  They are people who have proven themselves that photography is a calling and not just a hobby.  As Jong, our founder,  always says — senior photographers will deliver great pictures regardless of any situation.

  • Hyds Valencia-Cecilio

“Sun-shiney” is a term that can be attributed to this artist and her art. Hyds Valencia-Cecilio is the sun-shiney spirit that weaves thoughtful little details like getting to know the story behind every couple’s smile or family’s laughter, and distinctly staging a concept and set styling for every client. Hers is definitely a service that goes the extra mile and every time,  which, displays the inventiveness and sincerity in her outlook in life. Her outgoing spirit and natural passion for life is reflected in her personal fashion and photography style – chic and vintage. Hyds holds the midas touch that turns moments such as a loving couple’s embrace, a baby’s smile, or a look in one’s eyes, into timeless works of art. It is no surprise that she has developed a wide client base all over the country and has been requested to cover various events in different destinations. Hyds’ secret to success is simple: she has a heart that is intent on serving so that every photograph captures and brings the sun-shiney light and love of God to others.

  • Jed Ray Calara

Jed was inspired to become a wedding photographer at his brother’s wedding when he saw Imagine Nation’s onsite photo slideshow. He felt destiny calling him. He heeded that call and faithfully responded by doing freelance work for several photography outfits. When Imagine Nation opened its doors for the Purpose Driven Photographer workshop (PDP), he immediately signed up for it. PDP paved the way for greater opportunities and most importantly a rediscovery of God through the Purpose Driven Life teachings as part of the program.  Jed became part of the 5th batch of apprentices and in 5 months got promoted as Pro Photographer in Imagine Nation at 22. He best describes his style as ” Visually Sophisticated.” With the right lighting and composition, he strives to evoke an au naturel finish; simple with a dash of sophistication.

  • Shayla Sanchez

Shayla first fell in love with photography when during one of her road trips, she saw a man get out of his car to take a picture of a single yellow flower surrounded by the lush greens of the mountain side. Curious about what he saw through his lens, she saved up for her first DSLR, looked through the lens, and was quickly amazed by what she saw and continues still to be amazed everytime. The world – everything  and everyone in it, is so beautiful if we could all just take time to notice it.  It took a camera for her to see how beautiful the world truly is because it allowed her to look more closely at God’s creation.  She took up a basic photography class, kept shooting and eventually, got to be a part of the Imagine Nation Family where she has learned and still continues to learn so much under John Mateos Ong and the rest of the Imagine Nation Photographers.  Shayla hopes that through her photographs, people would see what she sees,  that they are truly beautiful, just as God made them. She believes that photography, after all, is really all about God-given moments where He has placed her in the most perfect place and perfect time to capture them.

  • Alex Ruelo

Alex Ruelo knew he had the eye for photography but lacked the equipment and the experience to turn it into something more than just a hobby.  While in the US, he enrolled at the New York Institute of Photography, became a freelance photographer and focused on portraiture and weddings.  When he returned to the Philippines, he thought he could establish himself as a professional photographer, only to be surprised by the many known names already competing in the business. As fate would have it, Alex met John Mateos Ong, the owner of Imagine Nation at a camp.  He then decided to join the Purpose Driven Photographer workshop, and then applied for the apprenticeship program in Imagine Nation, and the rest, as they say, is history. Alex is now one of Imagine Nation’s professional photographers, he believes that the turn of events were not a simple twist of faith but God’s way of working in the life of somebody who was willing to surrender everything to Him. Alex feels he has finally found his place and his purpose in Imagine Nation and hopes that he will continue to glorify God in everything that he does.

  • Danielle Tan

The word Danielle is a Hebrew and French origin which means “God is my Judge.” True enough, Danielle Tan loves and fears the Lord with all her heart. Before she became aware of the fact that photography is her true calling, she dawdled from industry to industry, from being a front-line in big telephone companies to flying up in the air as a flight attendant. Luckily, being a stewardess gave her the leisure to learn photography. She then had a chance to have her own studio in the Middle East. Even though everything in her life seemed to be in good shape there’s still something missing. Everything was too convenient and complacent. Imagine Nation introduced her to Wedding photography and helped her rebuild her relationship with God. Today, if you ask her she is proud to say that she is doing what her hearts desire and all of that is for the glory of our Creator.

As a photographer, Danielle makes sure that her clients are happy with the outcome of her work. Her shooting style is elegant yet invigorating and relaxing at the same time. She always make it to a point that when she is shooting for future couples they become comfortable posing in front of the camera. So, if you are the type of person who’s camera shy, then Danielle is the photographer you need. Because whether she denies it or not, she has a disposition to bring happiness wherever she goes.
